Vs

St Paul's School Rugby Fives Club

SENIOR / JUNIOR HALF GAMES

ALL boys who play Fives as their half should note the following:

1. Check the court booking sheet daily and turn up punctually when asked to play.

Please note that a general outline of timings is posted on the adjacent notice, but that other considerations may make changes necessary. Be sure to look daily.

2. If you are unable to play when listed to do so, please see me, preferably during the morning break. Don't just fail to turn up: this is discourteous both to me and to your opponent.

3. Persistent failure to attend when you are allocated a court will lead to removal from the Games Half activity. Several other boys asked for this as their first choice and it is unfair to them if you don't use the opportunities you are given.

4. All boys playing on the Games Half should own their own fives gloves , and bring them to each session.

5. Dress on Court:

  • Club vest or plain tee-shirt/ polo-shirt/ rugby shirt
  • plain white or dark P.E. or rugby shorts; track-suit trousers may be worn, but like rugby shirts may prove too warm!
  • Trainers, games socks

6. Behaviour on court. The highest standards of courtesy and sportsmanship are expected so that all may enjoy their games to the full. In this connection:

a.  no audible obscenities

b.  admit if your own shot is "not up" i.e. follows a double bounce

c.  ask for a "let" for obstruction only if you are sure you could have reached the shot.

d.  assume your opponent adheres to (c.) above and therefore don't deny him the "let".

e.  always call the score clearly after every rally.
