Minutes from Lunch with Chair of Governors / last meeting before study leave

The general theme, under which most of the changes fall, is the topic of how are we going to make the student council more available, to ensure dialogue between the council and boys. These are still open for further discussion, and hopefully we will be able to go through all of them next meeting.

• The prospect of having termly sessions of Student Council in the atrium was discussed, so that people could come up to us and make suggestions/ask questions.
• Year reps for the 4th, 5th and 6th forms - perhaps two boys from each year representing themselves at assemblies, so that we could answer their questions and raise awareness.
• Make the 4th Form aware of the Council
• Should get across the idea, truly, of how lucky and privileged we are to be here (even more than it has already been done)
• Make it easier for younger boys to understand what we discuss i.e. more transparency and awareness.
• Take more opportunities with the new Under-masters  - ASSEMBLIES with SC.
• Going around tutor groups - telling them what we are doing and plan to do, encouraging dialogue all the while.
• School wide e-mail at start of every term - tell people to make suggestions, and ensure a reply is sent to each of them indiviually.
• The Student Council Board near the entrance will be used a lot more from now on.
• Elections via iSAMS for new council members in the L8th?
• The prospect of a Facebook group was even discussed, as was the increasing of notoriety and its importance.
• Increase clarity on the Intranet page: what we are working on / have done.
