Student Council Minutes 19/01/04

Table Football

There have been innumerable complaints about the state of the table football table in the U8 common room. The Council has nagged Mr O'Keeffe to repair it.

Q&A Session

Some have called for a meeting where a panel of teachers answer questions asked by parents/pupils on school policy. The Council thinks that this would be beneficial for communication between the school and its customers, but doubts its feasibility.

4th Form Rugby Training

The Council questioned the justification for non-team 4th formers having compulsory rugby training on Saturday morning.

Football

The Council is similarly concerned about the school's policy on football. It is generally believed that the school's football facilities do not come close to meeting the demand for them amongst Paulines. For most football seasons, the pitches on Big side are barely playable, which is not helped by the fireworks display being postponed from November until the end of the Autumn term: as such the pitches have no time to recover before the beginning of the season. Despair was also voiced over the absence of a football games half in the 4th form. Since the Council has various concerns over sport at SPS, Mr Jaine will be invited to a meeting for a Q&A session.
