Minutes 3/10/12

Recap. from Ashay:

  • Clock on big side – should be fine in a little while, useful.

This Week:

  • Notices on Screen – has sped up a little bit, not really noticeable? Perhaps there has been a higher density of notices. Should we limit the amount of text that is allowed, word / character count? Send an e-mail to teachers with advice on notices’ length? Apparently this is already done, and teachers get lots of e-mails already. Also – tannoy availability for students to use  - agreed that it would be a logistical nightmare.
  • Showers – it was suggested that there could be dispensing shower gel containers that are replaced when emptied as in the soap. This would be time consuming to install, as well as the environmental issues of replacement. If one is bringing a towel in already, surely one could make the effort to pack some gel too. Also – locks on the shower doors were asked for, like the ones in the toilets (some of which need fixing). On-going discussion here.
  • It has been suggested that society talks, particularly ones around which there is a lot of “buzz”, might be recorded / filmed for the sake of the intranet / posterity, or if people miss the talks. Obviously one would need to ensure people are not ducking out of coming to the talks as there is a better, less physically taxing alternative. Again, this will need further consideration.
