The hive was installed by James Facon and KPZ on Monday 11th May 2015 with a nucleus of about 1000 bees and a queen. James brought that in from Oxfordshire and they were pretty excited to get out of the box and into their new home. We left them a feeder of sugar syrup to get them started and put the first super on top with a few frames in it.

The hive is a National made of cedar wood, with a gabled roof. It has a brood box which can take 11 frames and then a queen excluder with one super in place currently, though there is the possibility of a second one if the bees get really productive.
