Protocols On Attending the Hive
- Key has to be signed out by a member of staff - e.g. Dr Zetie, chemistry technicians
- Only trained boys are to go onto the balcony
- A minimum of 2 people should be present if boys are attending the hive - no boy should be unaccompanied.
- Anyone with an allergy to bee stings will not be allowed on the balcony
- Door to be kept closed while hive is being inspected
- Bee suits to be work at all times
- Hive to be sedated e.g. with smoke before inspection
- No-one is to play on the wall or do anything which involves risk of falling
- Key to be returned promptly once finished with
- In event of a fire exit through the store room and down the back stairs
