Minutes 5/09/12

Recap. from Ashay:

·      Black and White – there will be a body of two teachers over-seeing the new process of production, with Mr. le Fleming in charge, in choosing (very carefully) a new editor, and watching the process closely.

·      Student Handbook – seems to be going well, reviews from new boys are good. Perhaps some pointers:

o      Too texty?

o      Should it be sent off to new boys during the summer holidays before they start school? It definitely needs to be completed for next year, perhaps with more pictures.

o      Should we get it done before / over the Christmas Holidays of this year? Then we could hand over to new prefects who could tidy it up if needed.

o      Should it be printed outside of school to be more professional?

·      Atrium sessions of SC – all is well on this front; we would need to specify time and date – at some point on Mondays and Tuesdays (lunch break)

·      Assemblies –

o      6^th Form – 26^th Sept.

o      4^th Form – Next week. There may also be another one in December

·      Rugby for 4^th Formers – Would it be better for it to stay in both halves of term, although the number of active nay-sayers who would prefer not to do it has increased over the past few years. Problem: fixture card. We would need to talk to the games committee about alternatives (logistically a nightmare to start changing things drastically now). If a boy is really unhappy, he could have a quiet word with his tutor if he is not enjoying it, and then this could be rectified in some way

·      L8th Elections – next week, for them to be attending meetings the week after.

·      Suggestions – clock in U8th Common Room.
