Recap from Ashay from HM Meeting / Suggestions from this week after hearing:

·      Library – still looking into it in terms of numbers in the library. LRN’s Room (12) is free on Monday Lunch Time if it gets too full.

·      Vending Machines – there are now 2 more in the lunch hall (and as a side note, the busy queues of the tuck shop in the morning have gotten better)

·      Chapel – the SC have been asked to come up with a way of having a meeting with the architect for the new buildings, as well as getting all boys’ opinions on the possibilities for the new chapel and other buildings. A questionnaire would probably be the best way, and we would have to personally go round tutor groups (e-mail them first).

·      Computers – should there be a change made to how the rooms are run? Re gaming – is there an inconsistency in how they are monitored? Also – Electronics lab and language lab – changes to who is allowed in and when? Library computers – culture of chatty noise: for the new library – would it be possible to have separately placed computers in the new library (forthcoming) to encourage more silent and private study.

·      4th Form Rugby – Games Committee meeting this week, whether there should be a clear multi-sports option after the October half term.

·      360 degree feedback system for teachers – this will be looked into, Senior Management team could get involved. The U8ths are certainly more willing to give constructive help in the form of appraisal and perhaps what could be done better in future. It needs to be less critical and more constructive and on-going. “A formal thing done informally”. There will also be accountability if the system is abused. The system should not be imposed on teachers, and they should be encouraged to say “I would like some feedback” if need be. Some staff should be asked what they think – possibly Heads of Department to feed it through Dept. Meetings, next Wednesday morning?

·      Suggestion about lunch hall – pictures of food on screen: the menus can’t be read. Could it be changed so that people can see what’s on offer? It would be useful.
