Recap. on last Week:

  • The Chairman spoke to Mr. Jaine about key FOBS, and his mind is made up. We can still pursue the St. Hilda's gate problem, that it is closed at 7:00pm on weekends, which is bad for sport, plays, concerts etc.
  • CV Situation - Speak spoke to SJW, who said that we have had workshops in the past. He is keen to carry it on; having a CV written before the end of school would be very useful. Good idea, and SJW will talk to Dr. Mayfield about it. It is better to do it in the L8th, perhaps in the period after AS levels.
  • Ashay's business with iSAMS - there will be an iSAMS app by the Summer apparently as part of the re-doing of Firefly, to be called "Dashboard". As for the reports problem - there are certain bugs in the system, and malcontents are to speak to IT Dept. if wholly unsatisfied.

This Week:

  • The subject of school buses came up, and it was said that the cost is huge compared to other schools (about £600 a term), and if one is not on the bus for some reason, paying per term can be a little bit of a waste of money. There is no competition to the Impact company, and the service is apparently questionable in terms of quality.
  • Making the SC more representative came up this week, and the idea was put forward that a questionnaire should be sent round to tutors every week for each pupil. This however, may cause some problems. Few of the issues which arise have a yes/no answer, and there are lots of difficult situations that are impossible to change. Perhaps there could be a little informative box on "This Week", in which case Dr. McCullagh must be spoken to.
  • Junior Assemblies with the SC present - one for the 4th and 6th Form is being planned for after half-term, and it was generally agreed that it is good to get their opinions.
  • The 6th Form Forum came up in conversation, and one of the Council could go and sit in on them. Ashay volunteered to do this, and it takes place on a Friday lunch time.
  • Issues with the lunch hall came up again, and it has been noted that the cutlery is apparently always dirty, so Catering must be spoken to. The salad bars as well have allegedly descended in quality, and breakfast in the lunch hall is no longer available unless one signs up to Border's breakfast, in which case one must pay.
