Minutes 8/2/12
Absent: Dion
Recap. on last week:
- breakfast tuck shop - the Chairman has spoken to Mr. Jaine, and it will begin again soon. The Council wondered if a termly pay system could be worked out, but this would be quite complicated
- CVs idea - agreed, Mr. Jaine will speak to SJW some more to confirm.
- School Bus - more information: apparently other schools subsidise their bus services . It is very expensive to put on a bus service. The contract is for sporting events too, and it is too expensive apparently (ongoing discussion)
This Week:
- The meeting with "This Week" is the Monday after we get back from the half term.
- Common Room matters - to be dealt with by the Chairman.
- Rugby half alternatives for 4th Form - situation moving in a positive direction, although there will not be immediate changes.
- Food - there are excellent dishes cropping up, and the question was posed - surely there should be at least 1 "good dishes"? We'll see.
- 6th Form Forum - apparently is not organised for this half of term; the next half term of the Spring Term, a meeting shall be organised.
- Catering matters - Janssens to speak re. absence of hamburgers.
- Mr. Imrie has told us that he is very happy to come in and talk to us.
- Mercer lunch conversation subject matters - food for thought that came up was the idea of a system at St. Paul's starting at 11 to increase uptake of state applicants. This is perhaps a little too farfetched for the here and now, but perhaps an increase of the uptake of SPJ applicants at 11 is a better idea.
- Work with community - not as advertised as it should be? Perhaps Mr. Taylor should be advertised more. He does e-mail all of us, but maybe some just don't acknowledge it.
Main news: Breakfast tuck shop will begin again soon, and one will have to sign up if breakfast is wanted.
